ZTE’s Nubia brand introduced the company’s gaming smartphone Red Magic 3 in China earlier this year. At the launch, the company promised that it will bring the smartphone to India soon and as promised, today, the company has announced that the Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone will launch in India next month.
Red Magic India posted a tweet earlier today which says “This Summer from the house of Nubia we bring to India Red Magic 3. COMING SOON”. This clearly indicates that the Nubia will be launching the Red Magic 3 in June in India.
To recall, the Red Magic 3 flaunts a 6.65-inch FHD+ HDR AMOLED display with 90hz refresh rate, HDR support, is powered by Snapdragon 855 with up to 12GB of RAM, and the company claims that it is the world’s first smartphone with an active cooling system that dramatically improving thermal performance.
It also comes with an additional hardware switch that toggles “Red Magic Game Space 2.0,” a gaming-focused dashboard. The dashboard helps users to organize and quick-launch games, fine-tune performance settings and fan speeds, monitor temperature and usage stats in real time, block notifications for uninterrupted gaming, record in-game videos, and more.
The phone packs a 48-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor offering 12MP output and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual front-facing stereo speakers, DTS:X, and 3D sound technologies that create a cinematic soundscape, with or without headphones. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 27W quick charging, providing an hour of gameplay with a 10-minute charge.
The Red Magic 3 aims for the affordable gaming smartphone segment in China and Nubia expected to repeat the same for the Indian market. The Red Magic 3 starts for approximately Rs 33,000 in China for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage while the other variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage retails for almost Rs 36,000. Looking at the trends in the gaming phone segment in India lately, Nubia could bring the 8GB RAM variant in India for around Rs 36,000. At this price, it could challenge the OnePlus 7 and other new Snapdragon 855-equipped smartphones.
