Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 11 operating system has leaked online today. After screenshots were first published at Chinese site Baidu, the entire Windows 11 OS has appeared online, complete with a new user interface, Start menu, and lots more.
The start menu is a simplified version of Windows 10, without Live Tiles. It includes quick shut down and restarts, dark-mode view, pinned apps, and recent files. The app icons are placed along the taskbar, the tray area has been cleared up and a new start button has been added in the current version.
Windows 11 expected features and leaks
- The Windows logo is getting a redesign on the upcoming version of OS. A new blue square logo replaces the trapezoidal logo we’ve seen for the past six years. It somewhat looks similar to the blue Microsoft logo. In addition to that, you can see rounded corners all around instead of sharp ones.
- Besides this, Windows 11 brings a bunch of new wallpapers, including a dark one. The OS includes a new setup experience that’s somewhat similar to the Windows 10X. Adding to this experience is a new Windows startup sound.
- As far as the file explorer is concerned, there are no big changes apart from the redesigned icons. Even the settings menu remains unchanged. That said, we don’t know if this is the final look hence, Microsoft could update it before going public.
- Users will also get access to a new keyboard with Windows 11. While it looks similar to the current version keyboard, there’s a new bar above it that allows you to insert emojis, GIFs and more.
- & many more new features on its way…
The new operating system is still in progress and there has been no word from Microsoft to clarify the information in the leak.
The company will hold a special Windows event to unveil its next OS on June 24. The event will start at 11 AM ET. The event invite includes a window creating a shadow with a seeming number 11 outline.
